Embodied Practice Circle

A Space for Coaches to explore coaching through an embodiment and somatic lens.

The Embodied Practice Circle is a small, ongoing group (maximum six coaches) meeting online five times over a period to reflect on their coaching practice through an embodiment, somatic, and nervous-system–informed perspective.

It will be a shared learning space designed to deepen embodied awareness, develop your somatic approach, and refine how you use yourself instrumentally in your work.

The next Circle is being offered from September 2026. Please contact me to register your interest and when a group is gathered we will  set a start date and future dates together.

“I wanted to share about the Embodiment Practice Circles. I have found them a great offering and format, and would encourage you to do more of them, Paul.  I found them to be a really great opportunity to support me in moving from conceptual thinking to practical practice with this work. In the circle we connect with others from various roles/fields who bring embodiment and linked practices into their work.  It has meaningfully grounded for me what can feel ‘other’ into something tangible and real in my coaching work.  It has shown how embodiment is already being used/practiced/brought into many different roles and work by others. It has been a very useful step in my learning progression from the LE programmes to framing and maturing my perspective on using embodiment techniques, as well as continuing my personal learning.”

The Structure

  • Group size: Maximum of 6 participants
  • Format: Live online
  • Session length: 1.5 hours
  • Dates: Starting September 2026
  • Commitment: 5 sessions

What This Circle Offers

An opportunity to explore and  deepen your capacity to coach from an embodied and resourced place. Exploring aspects and dimensions that may apply to oneself as well as the client, for example:

  • recognising somatic and nervous-system dynamics in clients and yourself
  • expanding choice (under pressure) rather than defaulting to habit
  • using posture, breath, attention, and pacing
  • integrating embodied knowing alongside cognitive frameworks
  • working with challenge, emotion, and uncertainty without rushing to fix

How the Sessions Work

Each session is open frame and facilitated rather than topic-driven, and will typically include:

  • Situations and questions brought by the group
  • Somatic and embodied inquiry into:
    • presence and state
    • relational dynamics
    • habitual patterns and constraints
    • moments of stuckness or uncertainty
    • facilitating awareness, movement and connection

We will ask questions such as:

  • What was happening in the body?
  • What states were shaping perception and choice?
  • What became unavailable — and what might open with support?

Who This Is For

This circle is suited to:

  • experienced coaches
  • coaches, facilitators and leadership practitioners who have already explored  or trained in embodiment, somatics, or nervous-system–informed approaches

This is a practice-refinement space for people who are already skilled in their particular approach and wish to add a greater embodied and somatic awareness to their practice.

How We Work Together

  • Collegiate
  • Curious rather than corrective
  • Experiential rather than theoretical
  • Grounded in respect for each person’s way of working
  • Nothing is imposed. Everything is explored.
