This training is led by the foremost authority in Spiral Dynamics® and the original work of Clare Graves, Natasha Todorovic. It will provide you with the most thorough and up-to-date training you will find in this work, taking participants into the real depths and potential of the theory, the models and their application.

Spiral Dynamics®  presents a way of thinking about the complexities of human existence and understanding the order and chaos in human affairs. It explains deep forces in human nature which shape our values, and lays out both a pattern and trajectory for change. Spiral Dynamics® will help you gain a greater understanding of how people, organisations and cultures function from the inside out—and will empower you to help them work, learn, and live more effectively and successfully.

SD1 (4 days)

This in-depth overview of Spiral Dynamics and the work of Clare Graves is the first step in the certification process. It is designed to bring both those who are new to this way of thinking and practitioners who have been introduced to the Gravesian perspective from other sources up to speed with the full depth of underlying theory and current developments in value systems, memetics, and evolutionary change theory without fluff or hype. Taking a systemic approach to the these models and their practical relevance to the real world, SD1 provides the principles for using Spiral Dynamics in the field, including leadership approaches, management strategies and working with change – to answer the question “How should who manage (or teach or lead,) whom to do what, when?” You will also be introduced to the Spiral Dynamics profiling tools.

SD2 (3 days)

This training expands on SD1 and the underlying Gravesian perspective and other theories that have contributed to the Spiral Dynamics point of view and further extends the exploration of where and how to apply this work in practice. SD2 will help you “get behind the scenes” of human emergence and really understand the deep forces that produce trends, waves, and strategies. It provides a venue for discussing specific applications, projects, and research initiatives with case studies and examples. It focuses on the processes and approaches to change and the implications for management practice and strategic design in organisations, for training and education, and for individual & social change. On SD2 participants go more deeply into the use and interpretation of the profiling tools, working with the profiles of selected volunteers.

We highly recommend that you complete both SD1 and SD2 if you want to fully get to grips with Spiral Dynamics as a model and its application.  There is a free day between SD1 and SD2.

Certification

Participants completing SD1&2 will be certified to use the three Spiral Dynamics online profiling tools – Values Profile II, Discover and the Change State Indicator.  Those completing SD1 only will be licensed to use the profiles for 1 year only.

After completing SD1&2 participants are eligible to complete the online Practicum programme. This programme involves working in depth with the profiles of your volunteers in an online peer group setting, to help you cement what you have learned, and further develop your thinking, analysis and reporting.

Beyond the Practicum there is a further online programme SD3.
